After traveling across the country, Drake will close his Lights Dreams And Nightmares Tour—the first headlining run of his career—on Saturday (November 6) in Las Vegas. Honestly, this night is also special because a certain Young Money Cash Money affiliate may grace the stage alongside Drizzy. Are you ready?
1:44 a.m. SC: One last shot of the crowd in Las Vegas as they depart possibly the best concert they've ever seen.
1:38 a.m. JR: The crowd is chanting "Weezy, Weezy, Weezy" as Drake ends the night. He's bringing out the whole OVO click and thanking the fans for supporting him during the past eight months. Drake is shouting out Wayne, saying "It's great to have you home. Young Money, we back together. I promise you we will not disappoint you."
1:35 a.m. RD: The building is speechless.
1:33 a.m. JR/SC: Drake's performing "Over." Drake says "Tonight is the best night of his life!" Sparks are streaming from the ceiling of the stage, the show is peaking. Weezy is truly back, Baby is shinning, Tyga's elated and even Lloyd is beaming. Las Vegas is truly blessed to witness this moment in history. I've seen enough gifts to know when you're in a special moment. Drake, the leader of the now school!
1:25 a.m. SC: "It feels good to be back!" continued Weezy. "The hardest mofo that Martin Luther King died for to my right Drizzy, ain't nothing like home!"
1:22 a.m. JR: "I was gone til November, but I didn't trip cause I know you was gonna kill 'em," Wayne tells Drake during "Miss Me." "I'm back."
1.19 a.m. SC/JR/RD: Drake dropped to his knees during the Nicki Minaj line in "Miss Me." And now ... Wayne is here!!!! Looking like an action figure! WEEEEEEEEEEZZYYYY!!!
1:16 a.m. SC: I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that Wayne will hit that stage during "Miss Me." I could be wrong but that would make this a perfect performance for Vegas. "Say Something" has the crowd waving their hands side to side, all 4500 people in the sold out audience.
1:13 a.m. RD: Drake's Aaliyah tribute is the best. Reminds me of listening to "At Your Best" in college. R.I.P. Aaliyah
1:07 a.m. JR: Drake is flexing his vocal chops on B.o.B and Bruno Mars' "Nothin' on You" chorus.
1:04 a.m. SC/JR: Drake invites a girl on stage, jokes and makes sure she's of age to avoid the lawsuits ... And then he proceeded to tongue her down.
12:59 a.m. SC: "Are there any single ladies that wanna come on stage tonight?" asks Drake while married women scream. And the wait for Wayne continues as Drake performs Weezy's song "I'm Single"adding if you come on stage "You might get touched on, kissed on ... "
12:53 a.m. JR: Lloyd is in the house! Young Goldie and Tyga are on stage with Drake for "Bedrock." Young Moolah, baaaaby!
12:46 a.m. JR: Drake's talking to the crowd, saying "Yesterday I was at the hotel. I got this call from a number I never seen in my life. I picked it up. All I heard was. *Weezy voice* 'Yo.'
I said, 'I got a new number, who the f--- is this?'
And all I heard was, 'Ha ha ha, it's Weezy.'
And I said, 'Man, it is great to hear your voice on a regular line. I'm about to take a bus to Las Vegas.'
He said, 'I'm about to spend time with the family. But do you think they still love Lil Wayne in Las Vegas.'
Instead of answering, I'ma show him." *takes camera out to snap crowd, cheering Weezy*
Drake then asked the crowd to fill in Wayne's voice for the next song, "I'm Going In."
12:45 a.m. SC: Wayne is about to come out, I can feel it!
12:43 a.m. JR: Baby joins Drake on stage for "Money To Blow." Cash Money is definitely in the building. "They can't help it and I can't blame them ..."
12:39 a.m. SC: Drake is testifying that whatever "haters" have to say about him, his fans keep him motivated to continue. The crowd roars and the keys for "Fireworks" kick in. Every time Wayne's name is mentioned in a rhyme the crowds goes crazy. During the chorus real July 4-like fireworks go off at the back of the stage. You can smell the powder.
12:37 a.m. JR: "Successful" is winding down. Drake's speaking about how his life has changed.
12:33 a.m. SC: Drake's come a long way in terms of his interaction with the audience. His stage is accented with moody blues, soft yellows and smooth reds. Drake performed "The Resistance" and simmers the crowd down. Then the entire venue sounds like a choir singing the chorus to "Successful." It's so packed in here that you can almost only keep your arms in the air if you're on the bottom floor of the Hard Rock.
12:28 a.m. JR: "I got a brother, he's about this big, dreads, his name is Lil Wayne," said Drake, introducing himself, he does this each tour. "You can call me Aubrey Graham, Wheelchair Jimmy ... "
12:25 a.m. SC: Hard Rock Cafe is at a fever pitch! Backed by a six-piece band and two turntables, Drake is talking about this being last show.
12:24 a.m. JR: This venue is shaking. Drake has an extra bounce to his step, too. It's going to be a special show.
12:21 a.m. RD: Drake's swag is turned up way past ten tonight. He's killing "Show Me A Good Time."
12:18 a.m. SC: The crowd goes crazy as Drake walks out. The audience is glowing from all the camera phones and they're singing Drake's verse from "Forever" like they are on the track!
12:15 a.m. RD: We were at the opening of Drake's Light Dreams And Nightmares tour in Miami but tonight feels very special.
12:13 a.m. JR: Lights are off and the show's on. Crowd's chanting "Drake, Drake, Drake ... "
12:05 a.m. Sam Hendrick: Backstage is silent during the last prayer of the tour. Drizzy's about to hit the stage.
11:58 p.m. SC: The most popular question echoing around the venue is "Is Weezy here?!"
11:53 p.m. JR: A fan just sent a picture of Wayne and Nicki Minaj via text to the Verizon LCD screens adjacent to the stage. Weezy's image is drawing a lot of cheers and then the fans ... booed a picture of LeBron James.
11:47 p.m. JR: This crowd is ready for the Canadian! Every flicker from the stage lights ignites screams from the audience. Only fifteen minutes until showtime ...
11:38 p.m. SC: Tyga just went into an R&B set, rocking R.Kelly's "Bump N' Grind" to Chris Brown's "Deuces." We just walked back stage and bumped in to Drake. We gave each other the salute. Everyone backstage is tense with anticipation. I can tell that Drake is super hyped!
11:35 p.m. JR: Shout to Drake's keyboard player, D-10. He was one of the guys in Drizzy's "When I Was 17" episode on MTV. He's gearing up for the set backstage. Drizzy's in the building. He just arrived to his dressing room with his entourage and stopped by to say what's up to the 1515 team.
11:33 p.m. JR: Tyga is about to perform his new track "Really Raw" for the first time, he told the crowd. He's teaching them the hook now and the beat just dropped.
11:31 p.m. SC: A sea of hands waving and voices chanting 'Young Money!' at the Hard Rock Cafe Drake concert.
11:29 p.m. RD: Weezy's presence is definitely felt in the building. Will he show tonight? Hm ...
11:26 p.m. JR: "Everybody say, Young Money," Tyga is shouting as he raps over Snoop's "I Wanna Rock" into Cali Swag's "Teach Me How To Dougie" and Jay-Z's "On To The Next One." Tyga's come into his own on this tour.
11: 24 p.m. SC: The homey Tyga is on stage taking a stab at Kanye's "So Appalled." The crowd went crazy when the beat dropped. 'Ye's got one.
11:17 p.m. JR: Just spotted Drake's DJ, Future, backstage. He always gets to the show first at every show, from the opener in Miami to this one tonight. Checks out all the opening acts.
11:07 p.m. SC: Tyga just exploded on the stage!
11:04 p.m. SC: This kid AJ Hernz is very impressive on stage. He has the entire crowd clapping to music that they've never heard before and it was a very hyper active show. He's a great opening act, people should be on the look out for this kid.
10:55 p.m. SC: Drake's show has officially started with opener AJ Hernz on stage. No Weezy sighting yet but plenty of Weezy buzz!
10:49 p.m. SC: Standing backstage as AJ Hernz is preparing to step on stage to perform and Tyga just walked up the side of the building with a 15-person entourage. The floor of the Hard Rock is already full! People are just screaming for no apparent reason! Just met "Pooch Local" from Bakersfield, said that he drove four and a half hours with his girl to see Drake.
10:33 p.m. Rahman Dukes: It's going down in 30 minutes. The homey A.J. Hearnz is opening up. After a few appearances, we'd say tonight's performances may go longer than normal.
10:09 p.m. SC: We're talking Drake's tour manager and AJ Hernz. The sold out show means 4500 tickets were purchased!
10:06 p.m. Jayson Rodriguez: We're in the Hard Rock Cafe. There are plenty of girls in dresses that would make their parents blush. It's a sold out show. Jas Prince, who introduced Drake to Lil Wayne initially, is roaming the premises but no sign of Drizzy (or Weezy) yet.
10:00 p.m. ET Sway Calloway: VEGAS IS ON TILT! Drake's fans are in a frenzy! Two and a half hours before Drake's on stage!
