Earlier today TMZ broke the news that there's serious drama in Atlanta. Super star Gucci Mane was cuffed and super rapper Waka Flocka might be in jeopardy of having a warrant issued for his arrest. Lucky for Waka Flocka he had left for court right before the raid took place tweeting "THE FOLKS JUST KICK MY DOOR N GOOD THING I LEFT FOR COURT LOL"
GlobalGrind spoke to Waka Flocka's mother Debra Antney. Not not only is she Waka Flocka's mother, but also his manager. She also manages Gucci Mane and runs their company, 1017 Brick Squad.
Ms. Antney, who has been accused of being a drug dealer, took the time to give us the story. She exclusively told us, "I don't sell drugs and I'm not a gang banger. I'm not gonna have them go through that, not none of them boys - because most of them boys are trying to get their lives together."
Debra Antney on Why The Cops Raided Waka's House:"They are trying to find gang-afilliated stuff that they can't find. They're trying to call our company gangs, like we're all gangs - even me. Officers just called me the Candy Lady, they wouldn't let me leave, I was the one who was really locked in there who they had. They called me the Candy Lady they said I'm the one that's running the whole thing or whatever."
Debra insists that this is just another case of police harassment when it comes to rappers. She continues by pointing out "we go through this because they're black, for one, so they can't be doing anything. The police aren't finding gang stuff - there is no gang stuff... this is what happens when people want to become celebrities themselves."
This might also ruin the plans for a concert Brick Squad planned to host to help kids get toys. Debra stated: "I want yall to know that the stuff that's really bad is that those boys were getting ready tonight to do a big concert to raise toys for needy children. We have a huge event that's about to come up, and we don't need to go through this kind of stuff. They're really trying to help people, but you can't do anything when people keep with these rumors and stuff that they say. One person says something and everybody runs with it, and thats the person that you have to become."
